Shimmr is made in Stockholm by one developer with a background in professional audio and 19 years of meditation practice.
Why it exists
Most sound apps play recordings. Shimmr builds every tone live on your device, so the sound can follow you. A Shift glides the beat from where you are to where you want to be, and you can change any layer while it plays. The idea from the start was simple: sound should be generated, not fixed, and completely yours to shape.
How it’s made
Every tone is synthesised in real time. Rain, wind, birds and other nature sounds are recorded and mixed in underneath. Sessions are tuned by ear, and the Learn articles say plainly what the research shows and where it is still thin.
What it isn’t
Shimmr is not a medical device or a treatment. It’s a tool for winding down, focusing and sleeping, and it works best as part of a steady routine.
